This Saturday from 11 am to 4 pm, the Good Life Festival holds it’s long-awaiting Artoberfest at Encanterra® Country Club— where local art meets international culture to bring a totally unique Oktoberfest experience to San Tan Valley.
The event will feature art displays from over 50 local artists, as well live glass blowing demonstrations and painting classes. For a fully-immersed cultural experience, Artoberfest will appeal to all the senses with the local chefs at Encanterra®’s Bistro 1528 serving up all the classic German dishes, along with German wine flights and craft beers from local breweries. Get more details on the event website.
We love all the Good Life Festival’s events and our opportunity to take part in them, and this is one that can’t be missed. Don’t forget to swing by our office and say hello while you’re here!
It’s finally Fall in the Valley of the Sun and we couldn’t be more excited about the cooler weather, all-pumpkin-everything, and loads of family fun.
Head on down to the annual Pumpkin & Chilli Party at Schnepf Farms for all the Fall classics: hayrides, corn mazes, carnival rides, arts & crafts, nightly fireworks and so much more. This party is often heralded as the best Fall festival in Phoenix, and those of us residing in the East Valley are lucky to have it close to home!
The party takes place every weekend in October, with special 2-for-1 entry on Thursdays. Check out the Schnepf Farms website for all the details.
The end of the year can be an excellent time to buy a new car since dealerships are making room for next year’s models, and the following tips may help you make a purchase you won’t regret.
Do Your Research: What do you want in a vehicle? While you may have your heart set on a certain make and model, you might discover you’ve been unduly swayed by advertising when you dig a little deeper.
Get Pre-Approved: Dealer financing may not always be the best way to go, but even if you do choose that route, shop around and get pre-approved from a credible financial institution. According to Edmunds.com, when you walk in with an approval, you’re more likely to get a better interest rate.
Figure out What It’s Worth: Helpful resources, such as Kelley Blue Book (KBB.com) and Edmunds.com, can help you determine the going rate for any car before you enter the dealership—and knowledge is power!
Read Before You Sign: That sale is final, so read before you sign on the dotted line.
Not all home improvement projects are created equal. Some renovations may cost a lot but not add significant value to your home. This list goes in the opposite direction: Here are some inexpensive home improvement projects that will not only increase your enjoyment of your home, but will also increase the home’s value.
1. High quality ceiling fans: In a recent National Association of Home Builders survey, ceiling fans ranked No. 1 as the most-wanted decorative item. If your ceiling fans are outdated, replace them with something in the $400 range—it’ll make a big difference when it’s time to sell.
2. Trees: Mature trees can be worth as much as $10,000 toward the value of your home. Trees also protect your home from the elements and prevent erosion.
3. Energy efficiency: Buyers are increasingly interested in saving energy, so any efficiency update is worthwhile. Switching from a wood to gas fireplace is a great start.
4. Outdoor lighting: Exterior lighting is great for highlighting the accents of your home, and you can typically expect a 50 percent return on investment.
5. Molding: You can finish a room with crown molding or railing for as little as $1.50 per foot if you take a DIY approach, and it’s extremely desirable among prospective buyers.
