Meet the Neighbors: Gene + Marilyn S. on Verde Blvd
If you have ever been out walking around the neighborhood you have probably met a dog named Missy. She belongs to Gene and Marilyn, who just moved into the community this past August. Moving to Encanterra® is everything Gene and Marilyn could have imagined and more. Last year, they were enjoying a river cruise in Europe where they met a few couples who live in communities similar to Encanterra®. They were intrigued by the possibilities of this lifestyle so they started researching communities soon after they got home. When they stumbled upon Encanterra® and drove through the front gate, they knew the search was over. On the same day they first visited Encanterra®, they purchased a home— the Alora plan. Shea Preferred Realty Group then assisted Gene and Marilyn in selling their beautiful Mesa home in the Mountain Bridge community.
Gene and Marilyn’s love story began in Irvine, California in 2003, where they met on-line. They decided to meet for coffee after tiring of long phone calls, and the coffee date lead to marriage in 2004.
Gene is originally from New York. He studied Electrical Engineering at City College of New York and went on to earn a Master’s Degree at Union College in Schenectady, New York. He worked as an engineer for General Electric and later for Rockwell International, and has helped write patents for his own as well as other engineer’s products. He ultimately went on to become a registered Patent Agent before the US PTO and has prosecuted over 1200 patents in the last 25 years. Gene stays busy with his patent law practice but finds time for reading non-fiction and watching C-Span.
Marilyn grew up in Whittier California and graduated from UCLA. Later she obtained a Master’s Degree from the University of Connecticut. Marilyn consulted for Deloitte & Touche and later was Executive Assistant to the CEO of a major financial company. Marilyn has two married daughters living in Seattle. In her free time she enjoys volunteering at Banner Ironwood Hospital. If you see Marilyn at the gym or walking their dog Missy, ask her about her favorite pastimes: baking and sewing.
Marilyn and Gene are thrilled to be here and have already been introduced to many new friends. The social life is what they love most about the community. Welcome them to the “Good Life†Encanterra®!
